PE and Sport Premium

The government has provided grants on a yearly basis for the academy to increase funding for school sports. The funding has been jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport. The money goes directly to the academy to improve the quality of PE and sport for all children.

Our children benefit from a broad and balanced Physical Education (P.E.) programme carefully designed to inspire learners to:
  • become physically literate and confident in a way which supports their health, including their mental health, and fitness
  • be physically active for sustained periods of time
  • engage in competitive sports and activities that build character and help to embed values
  • succeed and excel in physical activities and sport
  • discover skills, abilities and preferences, and make choices about how to get involved in lifelong physical activity

Physical Literacy is reinforced through daily active playtimes and our extensive extra-curricular activities.

At our academy, we value sport and wellbeing and encourage all children to participate in sporting activities. We believe that participating in sport helps children to have a growth mindset through supporting children to overcome challenges and develop their sportsmanship skills. Our provision and resources enable children to have a range of opportunities including competing in local competitions with pupils from a range of schools, as well as in the Croydon Borough.
